DigitalWatercolors™ has been a
hobby of mine for over 6 years. I started with a digital photo I took
of the Montauk Lighthouse. After many experiments with software,
extensions, etc. I ended up with a desirable watercolor effect. I then
photographed a local tourist town, Port Jefferson and did the same
conversion. After a while I ran out of my photos so I purchased
Royalty free, Hi-Res Photos of different subjects.
AmericanaToday™ started over 12
years ago when I was Illustrating houses for local builders. Most of
the art was Front Elevations. By adding a side elevation and adjusting
roof, etc., it became a 3/4 view and created an illusion of depth. The
patterns, textures and color were added later. Then I photographed
each building in a local tourist town, Port Jefferson. I proceeded to
illustrate the buildings similar to the houses, and thus Americana
Today"-Modern Folk Art. The images are printed via an Epson inkjet .
They take approximately 30 minutes to spool and another 15 to 30
minutes to print. They are 13" x 19" (the smaller print is 6.5" x
19"). I print them on Epson Watercolor paper with archival inks. They
are printed as a Giclee.
